It's not just YSR's lack of toughness/influence in central govt, but there is also another historical aspect to this problem. AP doesn't have a big presence of its officers/staff in Railway Board/Ministry. Most of them, almost around 98% are from North India. Especially in Railway Traffic services and Accounts services, we can count the Telugu guys on fingers. Even if there are a few IRTS and IRAS guys they come to AP on deputation or go as OSDs(Officers on Special Duty) to some other dept. Never a single proposal of SC Railway moves ahead in Railway Board. Added to this step motherly treatment, YSR's inability to take a tough stand for AP's rightful share is the reason for the present plight. Finally, let us not forget the kind of MPs that the people of AP have sent to the parliament. | ||

I think the issue is that center needs these so called alliance partner parties. AP has their own party as govt and can be controlled as they wish. So, they will give what TN asks for, Mamta, Lalu can build rail lines to Timbaktu if they so wish. As for YSR being not demanding enough, yekkuva avesa padite Sonia will oust him and put some other person as the CM. So, YSR has to think of his own interests first. Overall AP is screwed. | ||

it's not just the MP's fault..if you realise the railway ministry is full of this bengal bihar orissa babu's...every year they keep getting the major share without even showing the profits in their region...even orissa manged to get their own division EAST Coast division and to bolster their profits they added visaz division because the main cargo profit comes from vizag division...irony is divvada which is the last station in south central division is just 20 kms from vizag..em cheptham manam chetakani vallam anthe | ||
