Fusion thokka...tholu etc news labels vadilestey..... it consists of JDeveloper (for j2ee development) + Forms + Reports + Discoverer + OracleAS (now added WebLogic) + IDM (OIM, OAM) + SOA Suite + BI Tools + etc... so one by one chooddam JDeveloper...eclipse, netbeans, idea, jbuilder, etc latho compare chestey deeni users chala takkuvey Forms+Reports+Discoverer: Forms & Reports almost abandoned anukovachu ( no new projects..). Even Discovere kooda gone anukunta. OracleAS: Oracle itself is trying to sell WebLogic...so oracleas might endup in oracle products (or it should kill weblogic). Customers are moving away from OAS...it has good market in UK not in US. IDM: There is some market but nothing new. Sun is there and others as well. SOA Suite: Though oracle is trying to sell one big suite to address challenges...there are much popular and penetrated products to address individual challenges. One tempting reason to go with SOA Suite is one-stop solution...otherwise people tend to avoid oracle for budget reasons. BI Tools: No need to tell that there is strong competition in this space. So...oracle is dumping old products and adding/re-labelling other products and selling as Fusion....a one-stop solution...but it is over hyped. I remember my co-brother (TCS lo oka 200 talakayalni maintain chestaadu) telling (after attending an oracle summit) that Oracle Fusion is going to rule the world in couple of years....and even now oracle is trying to acquire and kill the products.... Fusion...etc hype antaa...surviving tactics...old wine in new bottle...re-branding is a way of selling. ... | ||
