When the applicant either does not have a project or when the project leadership/team say they cannot provide one, what is it that the applicant can do? Last year, mine was not picked in the Masters quota and also in the general quota then. I have no problems in filing for an OPT extension. Come this year, recession hits the world hard, I had a job till March, so in hope that I can get one by the time, the RFE comes, I filed a petition, not surprisingly, they ask for additional evidence. Hard struck, not having a job and work in hand, depressed, I used to vent my frustration for things not going my way at my family and friends. In the process, lost the most precious/wished person of my life. Everyday, I get up, thinking of what I lost, then gather myself, study more, try not to think of what I lost, but try to think of what I still have. Life is hard. Yesterday, my friends H1B petition got rejected. He is in project from 10 months. He got a RFE asking for client letter. He could not provide client letter, but sent PO, photocopy of his ID card, transcripts of email communication with manager and other team, details of the project etc .. The rejection surfaced yesterday evening ! So sad, have to see what happens to mine ! Jambu mama, One of my friend faced that situation where in he was out of project and his company applied for his H-1 extension....INS issued a RFE asking the details of all the active workforce for the company and few details regarding their projects... my friend's employer called him and told him that it would be tough for them to provide details of all their employees, as few of them are on bench already.. also, his employer mentioned that it would be tough to get a H-1 extension as my friend is out of the project... my friend was not left with much choice and he moved to India for good.... this has happened 5 weeks back...
