i am clueless how people are not able to appreciate fargo. it is a simple plot and there was nothing grandiose about it. in the end when that puts a person in wood chopper it really sent severe chill through my back. kanchibotla baga analyse chesadu ee cinema ni in his no country for old man, please read his review. sideways is ok movie but not great movie. its also simple movie but the thing is director used visceral temptations like sex to glorify the movie, fargo doesnt have such temptations. whats the logic in showing his friend funcking that oriental girl upside down other than to give a viceral pleasure to audience. ofcurse i loved that scene. | ||

I think the problem with most of these movies is when you watch it, where you watch it etc. For eg. if you watched "sideways" after all the hoopla over it all you see is a loser dude who is drinking wine in a paper cup in a road side dhaba and his buddy who is just a tad less ••••• than those rapists in India. OTOH if you watched it in a movie theater with the right gang it might feel like an awesome film. I didn't like athadu at all. My brother who saw it in a theater on a big screen loved it. there are always films like "fargo" which some people like me will not like whether we saw it on big screen or TV, whether we were 20 or 30 at that time. | ||

Exactly...the philosophy is too much...n each n every dialogue when they say they mean it..... Joker and Batman are two extremes of nature....Joker has a pessimistic look of world...he thinks and believes that when chips are down the civilized humans will eat each other to survive...So all he does in this movie is like a social experiment....he just wants to prove wat he believes....And he finally breaks the integrity of harvey dent...He is succesful...But is his beliefe justified??? No cause there is Batman...who believes in good...self righteous....who even when provoked to extremes never loses his integrity and doesnt take it personal....even when the love of his life dies....he retains sanity....He is wat Joker is not is....He is the one to prove to Joker that there r indeed people in this world who believe in doing good..... The dialogues when the movie ends are so powerful.... Harvey is not the hero they deserved but needed.... Batman is the hero gotham city deserves but not needed right now.... He is gaurdian angel An invisible protector A Dark Knight....  | ||
