Cant answer your question untill its Friday. As of now, No. Brand new iPhone 3G and 3GS are not unlockable. They are not unlockable. But, expected a unlock software (called ultrasn0w a higher version of yellowsn0w) to be relased over this weekend. If you have 1 hours patience you can do it by yourself. Unlock means you can use you phone for any carrier. Apple sells you some applications and expects you to buy the applications only from them. It wont allow control of iPhone file system for users. which means you are being jailed by Apple. but jail break lets you control over the filesystem and you can install all the third party applicatoins and games (most of them for free).... | ||

iPhone is by far the best gadget till now....but AT&T/O2 (here in UK) and apple tie up and restriction over the carries and third party apps is something that really takes it back over the Palm Pre or G1... But, if you could understand the concept of the ultraSn0w or Yellowsn0w and jailbreak....I suggest you to go for iPhone....Its fun owning one that has no carrier restrictions and no third party app restrictions..... I am waiting for this Friday for the release of ultrasn0w for my iPhone 3G.... | ||
