MrHyd : I was coming from RT 202 ramp which gets merged in to RT 22. It was raining slightly and roads were wet. When i came down from ramp, i saw a car standing at foot of the ramp. By the time i saw the car, distance was less than 50 feet and i have immediately applied the breaks. But since it was a ramp and the road was wet.. my car skid and hit the MrChina's car from behind. Also, he appeared to be on idle state instead of trying to merge. I think his car had a trouble or something like that. He wasn't moving at all on a 45 MPH road. Judge : Do you have any questions for state? MrHyd : LtAnthony, Can you confirm who made the call to 911? Me or MrChina? Cop : We have received the call from MrHyd about the accident. MrHyd : Your honor, If it was my mistake why would i call the cops first? (Definitely not for insurance claim as it was a small damage) MrChina was ready to let it go. You can confirm the same from him. Judge : LtAnthony, can you confirm if MrChina's car was in a broken down state at accident area? Cop : No sir. He was able to move the car to the shoulder on my order. MrHyd : Your honor, it could have been a small glitch which might have got resolved automatically. Haven't you ever had such problems with these days cars? Judge : I sure had. Please go ahead. MrHyd: LtAnthony, Can you confirm if the car was in a broken down state or not .. when i hit the car? Cop : No, i can't confirm that since i was not present at that time. MrHyd : Your honor, since state can not prove it beyond a reasonable doubt, i would request you to give the verdict in my favor. Here is my exp in court: Judge : Please read out the case. Cop : MrHyd was driving Honda onUS 22 east and hit MrChina from behind. No damage to MrChina's car. MrHyd's car front bumber, hood got damaged. NO personal injuries to anyone. In my investigation i found that, it was MrHyd's mistake as he hit MrChina from behind. Judge: MrHyd, Do you plead guilty or not guilty. MrHyd : Not guilty.
