Megapowerstar:my laptop is making whirring (fan nundi vache) sound. HP customer care ki call cheste, they asked me to send it over and it will take over 2 weeks time. is it bcos of virus ? i have avg free version and also malware bytes installed...any suggestions for taking care of this ?
It is due to heat, fan is running high speed. Try to cleanup dust using dust off, it may help. Always use stand never put on carpet or pillow. Try below software. It will tell you reason for the heat http://download.cnet.com/SpeedFan/3000-2094_4-10067444.html |

is ur laptop 3 years old. if yes and its making sound then the next step would be it would start switching off automatically due to heat. if u have warranty say the battery is bad and replace it. then it wont make the sound as the battery is culprit. as battery loses its juice, power tries to charge it up more and it couldnt and it gets heated up so the fan kicks in automatically. |

its because of temperature inside. fan tries to cool it. it happens if you are running CPU intensive programs. cpu being 100% utilized because of virus? may be. clean the dust in vents. also you can replace the fan. fan setting BIOS fix software vuntundi. never tried. so don't know. if you still have warranty then send it to customer support. |
