Loksabha Elections along with Assembly elections proved a BIG advantage to Congress in the state. The Loksabha was almost one sided in favour of Congress, which helped tight assembly races in favour of congress also. Lucky YSR, he gambled BIG time by going alone and STAKING everything on his reputation and became VICTORIOUS in a big way and definitley increased his stature in central level and ofcourse at STATE level HE IS CONGRESS and CONGRESS is HIM. | ||

Yes that is true, keeping the 15.6% would be a challenge. But I think most of those votes is of loyal fans who wanted to see chiru as CM. Next time if Chiru forms a pre-election coalition with either CONG or TDP with sharing of power, that will be a definite winning strategy. Going by percentages each party will get approx. Cong 108, TDP 85, PRP 45, LS 5/// This is not correct. Politics lo 1+1 = 2 kaadhu. A difference of just 5% in 2005 gave congress 200 seats and TDP just 45 seats. The biggest challenge for Chiranjeevi now is keeping this 16% of votes with him next 5 years, this is not easy. without power he has to put lot of sincere efforts, money, intelligence, hard work. Otherwise those 16% votes will slowly go to other parties. | ||

Congress made the most of the close wins; 2. PRP messed up in close places. There were like 25 places where PRP candidates lost with less than 1000 votes margin 3. Had TDP & PRP merged before the elections, they could have a real good chance to beat congress with a combined percentage of 30+15 = 45 4. There is a very good hawa for congress and they made the most of it 5. LS had very less impact. Looks like the message really did not reach the masses.
