"Do you know that you are not supposed to use 'as' or 'to be' after 'considered'?"
"Really?"
"Yes. That is considered to be bad usage in America."

"Do you know that you are not supposed to use 'as' or 'to be' after 'considered'?"
"Really?"
"Yes. That is considered to be bad usage in America."
"Oh! So it is good usage in India, I presume!"
"Naa... It becomes Indian English in that case. I hate Indian English."
"Well, my father says there is a difference between Telugu Brahmin English and Tamizh Muslim English."
"What?"
"Yes. Looks like these are two different flavors of English."
"So what is Indian English?"
"There is no such thing called Indian English. It is a collective name given by non Indians to all the dialects of English spoken in India."
"If I use Bengali Fish English - am I speaking correct English then?"
"From Babel fish' point of view - yes you are. From a puritan's point of view, you are not."
"And why is that?"
"Well, some folk believe only in Her Royal Majesty and her language. Everything else is bad grammar and bad usage."
"And some people believe that by virtue of being born in India, they can butcher the English language and pretend that it is an Indian dialect and hence is OK."

Silence...

"What are we fighting about? Refresh me?"
"I haven't got a clue."
"Is Marathi Navanirman English better than Gujarati Bijinech English?"
"That's the argument. Isn't it?"
"Yes."
"Strictly my personal opinionu. I think Andhra Avakaya Englishu really the beshtu."
"And my two centsan. Tamizhan Munnetra Aanglan dhaan the bestan!"

Silence...

"So what about Indian English?"
"Remember that Hungarian Aristocrat?"
"Which one?"
"The one that looked at a map and discovered that he is on the top of a mountain that is two miles away!"
"Oh yeah! I do remember. Quite a guy he is."
"I think we share a gene or two with him."
"We do?"
"Let us get a DNA sampling done tomorrow."
"Sure thing."
"Have fun."
