maybe old news but reposting. Comedian Babu Mohan made startling comments on film producers in Tollywood. He also said that the industry has its own Dawood Ibrahims. He produced a film titled Sammakka Saarakka Mahatyam introducing his son as hero and it ran into trouble with a distributor refusing him to give profits nor the prints back. He narrated the incidents. "After becoming producer, I came to know what the miserable life a producer leads in this industry. Jyothy Film Factory came to me promising release of my son’s movie. I had to undergo yet another trauma as the distributor vanished soon after paying advance only to return just about three days before the actual release of the movie. My happiness was short lived as he withdrew the movie within a week of screening. Draining the entire three crores of my hard earned money. My prints are yet to be handed over to me which is causing further pain and losses. I’ve written to the film chambers and producers association, but I’m yet to get results and support from them. If I don’t get support and my prints within two days I will have to bring the problem to you all by going on indefinite hunger strike. This has given me the real experience of a small producer and I pity all such producers who are in the market with full of enthusiasm and dreams," he said.
