The Anti-Corruption Bureau has decided to alert registration authorities not to entertain any transaction pertaining to the assets of Solipuram Narayana Reddy, the motor vehicle inspector (MVI), who is facing graft charges. The ACB will also inform the stamps and registration department and the collectors of Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts. "The agency will inform the authorities and give them the property details with survey numbers," sources said. Though the transport department initially permitted the ACB to initiate the process of attaching the Narayana Reddy’s properties worth Rs 1.53 crore, the latter managed to stall the process. Based on the instructions from Chief Minister’s office, the transport department kept the orders in abeyance. | ||

The ACB on Friday unearthed Rs 23 crore assets belonging to Mr V. Suryanarayana, an executive engineer in the fisheries department. The ACB estimates that the total could reach Rs 30 crore after his bank lockers are opened. Searches conducted at the engineer’s residence at PJ4, Panjagutta government quarters, revealed that he was in possession of 60 acres of agricultural land in East Godavari worth Rs 9.25 crore, 12 house sites in Kakinada and an independent bungalow worth Rs 8.5 crore on Banjara Hills Road 3. The values are based on registration documents. Their market value would be much higher.
