I dont think he went to visit an injured colleague. They got the message that something is going on some other place, they did not have enough time to think, they started in the same vehicle, thinking that once they reach the point, they can disperse and plan and go from there. unfortunately, tellalists were hiding in some other place and they got these 3. tellalists getting these 3 is just a co-incidence. telugu papers lo, tellalist gaallu yedho master plan jesi, veellani chumpinatlu stories raasindru. | ||

Who brother...with all respects to the departed soul..he wrong messages manchidi kaadu emo.. his killing was an accident...he went to visit an injured colleague in the midst of all the madness that was going on...on top of it...3 highly ranked officials in 1 car..that too to visit an injured colleague ...hmmm guess what..galthi se mistake..the terrorists were looking for some vantage point...ended up coming out of the same hospital where these guys were heading...so bad luck is that they both met at the gate and these officers met their eventual fate.. | ||

Remembering ex-ATS chief Hemant Karkare NDTV Correspondent Friday, December 12, 2008 1:49 PM (Mumbai) Hemant Karkare, the anti-terror squad chief killed in the Mumbai attacks, would have been 54 on Friday. Karkare's family has put a small insert in the Indian Express thanking the people of India for expressing solidarity with the family after his death. They have also expressed gratitude for declaring his birthday as Shaurya Diwas. Karkare's family has till date not spoken to any media. Karkare, a 1982 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, was in the spotlight for leading investigation into the September 29 blasts in Maharashtra's Malegaon town. Ten people, including Sadhvi Pragnya Thakur and Lt. Col. Prasad Purohit, were arrested as a result of the probe. Karkare had taken over the ATS in January after a seven-year stint with India's external intelligence agency Research & Analysis Wing (RAW). During the 26/11 attacks, he was gunned down while leading an operation at Hotel Taj against terrorists who had taken 15 people, including seven foreigners, as hostages.
