Simba:annaiah,5.1 channel ante 5 speakers kavali along with HD tv. Am I correct?.other wise no use..
right. You need 5 speakers + subwoofer to listen to 5.1 channel audio. If you have just have HDTV, you are listening to 2-channel downmix from the tv speakers (even while you are playing regualr DVDs). |

Sorry boss. I am not in market for TV so out-of-touch with updates. Naa opinion lo, go for Sharp LCD. They are the best in quality, followed by Samsung/Sony. I will not consider other makes for LCDs. If you favor Plasma, Pioneer makes the best (kuro series is expensive but worth), followed by panasonic/samsung. From the going trends, LCDs are taking over the plasma market, so it is wise to pick an LCD. As for the deals, just check the black friday site: http://bfads.net This site gives store-wise deals with scans from actual sales-circular. |

Wow, someone saved my write-up. Thanks!! Here are some additions: Canon has come up with new model VIXIA HF-11 which is same as HF10 but with 32GB internal memory. Panasonic released new models HDC-SD100 (replacing the SD9) and HDC-HS100 (replacing HS-9). The specs and features of new models are same as predecessors. Few things to consider before purchase: 1. What are you going to use this for? This dictates if you have need for manual focus/exposure control, attaching external light/flash etc. For home videos, I don't think you need them. 2. Storage. Every make has models which writes to SD/SDHC cards and optional internal memory or hard disk. In my opinion, more the storage better, as you do not have to off-load the footage often. 3. Picture quality. This is the most important. Bigger CMOS sensors (as in sony/canon) are good for capturing more light, hence works in all types of env (indoor/outdoor). Panasonic's smaller but 3-ccd sensor footage renders the colors full(saturated) but weak in low-light. |

SImba kurrod recommend chesinavi: The current breed of HD camcorders (AVCHD) are: 1. Panasonic SD9/HS9. Pros: Cheap $600 to $900 (SD9 with 60GB hard drive). 3 ccd makes the colors look saturated and full. Support SD/SDHC cards (cheap) and 5.1 surround sound. Cons: The size of sensor is 1/6" which is not good in low light. The placement of ports (mini-HDMI) under the battery and location of 5-way control switch is not intuitive. No viewfinder or shoe for external mic. The AVCHD footage from panasonic models is not compatible with all the authoring software. 2. Canon VIXIA HF100/HF10 Pros: Moderate price $700-$1000 (HF10 with 16GB built-in storage). 1/3" CMOS sensor is very nice in low light. Support SD/SDHC cards (cheap). Cons: Supports 2 channel audio (Stereo) only. No shoe viewfind or accessory shoe. Not many manual controls available. 3. Sony SR11/SR12 Pros: $1200-1400 (with 60GB/120GB hard drive). 1/3" CMOS sensor is very nice in low light. Large (4") LCD screen and viewfinder, accessory shoe available. Cons: Expensive. Supports Memory Stick pro cards which are expensive compared to SD cards. I did research for a month and finally went for Sony SR12. Remember, these AVCHD footages are huge files and you need a potent computer to edit title, author DVD/Bluray disks. Both of them have 1/3" CMOS sensor which is better in low-light than 1/6" CCD in panasonic. Sony has larger touch screen LCD than canon model. The view finder in Sony helps you to use camera when you are running low on battery or in bright sunlight, which is missing in canon. Further, sony records 5.1 channel audio where as canon is stereo only. The accessory shoe can be used to connect external mic or light (flash) which is available on Sony. If you are enthusiastic about manual focus/aperture control, you can do in Sony only. You get a lot for the money in Canon, but if you really need those extra features, go for So. |
