LOng Long ago....before u and me were born....Even before the most senior person of this DB PAVALA was born....There was this woman....Liz....she just completed her late afternoon Tea with biscuits....and she dressed up,checked for her ticket and left the house for the near by theatre which was staging a Russian Ballet.... On the way to the theatre she had to pass this cricket ground....those days there ain't no hugely built stadiums.... She has absolutely no idea of what cricket is about....She just had a glance on the action happening in the ground and in no time she got Hooked to the sight of dat batsman in charge...he was WG Grace....She decided to watch him for a five minutes....after few minutes she was so completely bowled over by his skill.....She decided she would watch for 5 more minutes.....Another 5mins passed in no Time....She couldn't get enough...Now she takes out her Tickets for Russian Ballett and she tears them to pieces and SHe completely savors the Performance of WG GRace..... So the thing here Cricket is not just a game....if played properly it can be an art.... As the game evolved after WG Grace....several other superstars came into limelight.... Bradman,Javed Miandad,Viv Richards and many more.... The Grace was replaced with grit The subtlety got replaced by elusiveness The style was replaced by strength and thus the original charm of criket started to fade away..... Rarely players like  strike a balance with old charm and new demandings.... With the advent of 20-20 and its super success and people embracing Dhonis,Afridis its highly getting impossible to expect anyone anymore like WG... |
