W adapts a parallel narration........... On one side we see a dazed and confused young dubya trying to succeed in his life and unknowingly making right moves at right times..... And on the other side we see President Bush going from a approval rating of 80% ...ordering for Iraq war and facing the wrath of the world for lying about WMDs.... Oliver refrained from his larger than life approach with glorious cinematography and haunting scores and cutting edge editing but chose to narrate the story in a simple manner... The movie portrays Bush as a kid....u know like a super man who sees things in black and white....a naive god fearing person who wants to do good and who was taken for a ride by his aides.......also it depicts his inferiority complex of how he is not able to stand up to his family's name no matter how much he achieved.... Dheenammma...I almost felt for that guy when he breaks out on the news that there ain't no WMDs to be found in Iraq and whatever he was informed by rumsfeld and his team is all BS....also the subsequent press meet....bush completely out of clue of wats happening....Again being Dumb aint no excuse... Not a great movie...and not a bad movie either.... Its funny they covered that pretzel scene in the movie which was but of jokes for many days on all late night shows...... Unlike what they have portrayed in the movie....bush actually goes to bed at 8PM irrespective of how horrific the daily events are and he still gets his 3mile rum everyday...anyone who used to watch daily show consistently in 2005 and 2006 can vouch for dat  .... |
