There are very many different forms of trading that happens between countries. 1) Oil is bought and sold between any two countries with USD as the ruling currency. This means when India wants to buy oil, they have to first buy dollar. If demand is more, value of dollar will rise against rupee. 2) You can extend the above example of oil further to all kinds of exports and imports internationally. Thus, supply and demand dynamics. 3) When a US company invests in Indian company, or the Indian market, the market starts behaving dynamic with pumping of more money to maintain the necessary operations. If the US company wants to back-out its investments, the market will go down in India, so to maintain the market at the same rate of transactions, India will try that foreign investment at a higher price, thus rupee will fall against dollar..... ilaa cheppukuntu pothey......layman's language lo chaalaa chaalaa factors untaayi. |

Rocky ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------- The most important factors 1. Trade deficit especially foreign trade 2. Interest rates of that particular country. This means if the interest rates in US are higher means more stronger dollar. However the recent spurt of US $ was due to purely supply factor 3. Economy of the country. ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------- Rocky, First of all thanks to your reply. But naku Ardhamu kaledhu sir......... However the recent spurt of US $ was due to purely supply factor Can you please explain me in Layman words... Tinku garu, what exactly demand and supply here mean |

Idhi matram nijam. Ironically a year back, it was predicted that Rupee would stregthen against dollar upto Rs 34 soon. At one point of time, RBI controlled the Rupee appreciation by controlling the price upto only Rs 39 to protect Indian exports value. But the sub-prime mess messed up the financial market with its pervading effect on all economy |
