In 62 overseas matches his average is 32.73 and he scored about 3173 runs and only 4 Centuries Compared to at home record of 54 matches ...an average of 55.73 about 3725 runs and 13 centuries Countrywise break up kavalante isthanu overseas.. I too like him as a player..but I always felt that he had some weakness in overseas conditions against genuine pace..of course he came 2/3 down..and had the advantage sometimes.. | ||

Raju gaaru pl dont tell us that vengy is scared of fast bowling or he can not play fast bowling. He is one of the better players of fast bowling in those days. Nostalgia, On the day Indira gandhi was shot, India was in pakistan playing a ODI. India were batting first and were about 180 for 8 or something like that. Vengy was not out on 80's when the news came out. Imran and sarfaraz were their main bowlers at that time. ofcourse, they stopped the match, after indian innings. | ||

Ganguly was a great batsmen, and a captain. Vengsarkar baanay cheppadu, Ganguly is no good in tests, his test stats tell that. Except couple of times in more than 100 tests he played India never won match due to him. Ganguly instead of he talking let His bat do the talking in this series. Mind lo inni pettukoni aadithay it is difficult to score runs against world best team Aus. Former chief selector Dilip Vengasarkar said he will refrain from responding to Sourav Ganguly's [Images] outburst against the selectors till the end of the current series against Australia [Images] as it could divert the team's focus. "I won't answer him now, as this is not the right time, because India are in the middle of a Test series and it might affect the focus of the team," Vengsarkar said on Friday. * 'I was not prepared to take more humiliation' "But I will definitely answer him after the series is over. He will get more than what he has asked for," he added. Ganguly hit out at the selectors for the manner he had been treated and said he decided to retire to save himself the humiliation of being treated as the "sacrificial goat" all the time. "There is no point playing like this. I am not willing to play at their (selectors') mercy. They will pick you now and then dump you. Why should I be the sacrificial goat all the time? It was difficult to accept," said Ganguly, who announced his retirement from international cricket on Tuesday. Vengsarkar also said the Board of Control for Cricket in India will look into the matter and find out what Ganguly had told the Bengali daily. "All I had said yesterday [to a television channel] is that if he had said anything [on selection], the BCCI will look into it," he said. News 24 channel, in a press statement, late Thursday night, quoted Vengsarkar as saying, "Sourav should stay away from making any statements till he is playing as they will create unnecessary controversies."
