Few memories of REC Warangal. It was a dream come true to when I got into this college. We had students from every corner of the state and country making the class most heterogeneous. There was no groupism/regionalism as nobody knows anyone before coming to there. Just to give an example, here is the typical composition of the class of 60 students: OU - 6 (open) AU - 6 (open) SVU - 4 (open) BC - 4 (all 3 regions) SC - 5 (all 3 regions) ST - 5 (all 3 regions) All other states - 30 (1 or 2 from each state) | ||

Jkm "14,15 years back there were only 28 colleges." Apart from OSMANIA, JNTU(HYD, KKD, ATP), SVU, AU, REC which were Govt ENGG Colleges, the Private ENGG Colleges were.... Deccan, MuffakhamJha, CBIT, MVSR, VASAVI All in HYD.... SIDDARTHA, VADDESWARAM in VIJAYAWADA.... GITAM in VIZAG.... One in GUNTUR (Or is it 2??).... One is VAKADU.... KITS in WARANGAL.... PULLAREDDY in KURNOOL.... One in CUDDAPPAH.... One in BHIMAVARAm.... One in MACHILIPATNAM.... One in ELURU.... So, total of 21 or so, in ALL OF THE STATE!!!!!! These were the total number of ENGG colleges when I did in early 1990s!! The fee was Rs 300 per year in GOVT ENGG colleges, and was Rs 5000 per year in Private Colleges (Even in private colleges Open quota you get seat if you get under 5000 RANK in EAMCET) till the year before I joined, than it was increased to Rs 6500 per year, was increased to Rs 10,000 per year after my batch!!!! Vipareethamaina respect undedi yevadikaina ENGG lo seat ochhindi ante! Also, coaching centers in All of the state used to be NARAYANA, RATNAM in NELLORE, VIGNAN, VIKAS in GUNTUR, JVS Study Circle, Progressive Accademy etc in HYD!!!! i agree. also long term coaching(inter 3rd year). personally i hated it. morning 4 AM till night 11 PM. it was hell. simply torture. one year of mugging for exam decides your future. onething is sure. you can not continue with the same hard work for entire life. and then what else we can do? we are not rich. we don't choose our passion whe we choose our career.
