If you are married and dont have life insurance, may be it is the time to buy it. The younger you buy the lesser is the premium... The younger you are the lesser the chances of having chronic deseases like BP, diabetes, heart problems or any health problems....Once you have these deseases then it is difficult to get Life Insurance even if you get you have to pay very high premiums... I took Life Insurance one year back, I did not have this awareness 5 years back, otherwise I would have taken 5 years back. September is the Life Insurance Awareness month. |

You should watch the documentary "Sicko" with world renowned Michael Moore, maker of Farenheit 9/11 After having watched it, I sincerely believe Hillary should have been the Presidential contender. |

September is life Insurance awareness month. I am starting this thread to let the db members know the importance life Insurance especially if you are married. If you are married take life insurance today, if you have kids it is must. Nobody knows what will happen tomorrow, we have to make sure that our dependents are financially secure when some thing worst happens. here is a realife story. When Nicole Wiersma, claim customer care center representative, was 15, she saw how life insurance can help keep a family together when tragedy strikes. Her parents, Terry and Lori, were high school sweethearts in Beaver Dam, Wis., and married two weeks after her mom graduated from high school. They had children right away, welcoming her brother Jeremy first, and Nicole the following year. Her dad worked to support the family and Lori was a hands-on mom who raised Jeremy and Nicole. "My mom made breakfasts and lunches and was always there when we got home from school," says Nicole. "My parents did everything they could so mom could stay home with us," she says. Nicole was also close to her dad. "Strawberry season was our favorite time," she says. "I worked at a strawberry farm and would make him pies." Her dad was healthy, active and coached Nicole’s softball team. But things took an unexpected turn when he was 36. "Dad was taking a nap upstairs, and we heard a ‘thunk.’ We thought he fell out of bed." It turned out he was having a seizure and Nicole, who was 15 at the time, had to call 911. Her dad was in the hospital for a few days, and then got better. But a month later he was back in the hospital. This was the last time Nicole spoke to her dad. Two days later, he passed away. "The doctors don’t know what he died from," says Nicole. "They believe it was some kind of megavirus that took over his immune system." Losing their loving father was devastating for Nicole’s family. It was especially difficult for Nicole during birthdays since hers and her dad’s were a week apart. Yet, if there was anything resembling a bright spot, it was the life insurance her parents purchased. "If my parents hadn’t had a life insurance policy on my father, I don’t know what we would have done," says Nicole. Life insurance freed up Nicole’s mom to focus on her children and help them deal with the death of her father without too many financial burdens. "The life insurance helped my mom pay off the mortgage on our house and put away money in a savings account so she could go to college," she says. "She never had to worry about how she was going to put food on the table." After seeing firsthand the importance of life insurance, Nicole and her husband purchased term life insurance policies when they were expecting their first child. "You never know when something will happen," says Nicole, who now has a 6-year-old son and a 4-year-old daughter. "Even if you don’t have kids, can you take care of yourself if your partner isn’t there?" |
