Speaking to reporters at a press conference after inaugurating party office in Nizamabad town on Sunday, Goud said that 70 per cent of the legislators do not know about Assembly procedures and no one bothers to learn them either. He said that was the reason for the frequent unruly scenes that were being witnessed in the Assembly now. The Assembly, according to Goud, has become a WWF ring with chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and leader of the opposition N Chandrababu Naidu exhibiting their lung power. Instead of discussing people’s problems, the Assembly was getting locked in a brawl between these two leaders, he lamented. Emphasising on the need to elect fresh candidates as MLAs for Assembly, NTPP chief felt that the political power should be in the hands of poor people if inequality was to be eliminated. Replying to a question on separate Telangana, he exuded confidence that it would be formed before 2009 elections. Though he did not elaborate on this, he added that once a separate state was carved, NTPP would strive for providing free education to weaker sections and health care assistance to the poor.
