Abcdefghij:

Quite obviously Chiranjeevi does not believe in throwing surprises. In fact, he drags suspenses to the point where people get a bit bored. The launch of his political party best illustrates that. There has been talk about it for such a long time that people around him, including his brothers, had to convince people that he, indeed would be jumping into politics.

the letters in red, just reminds me of a great politician whom telugu jathi forgot so easily ... PV Narasimha rao .... he has the habit of dragging things to a point where people plead with him to take a stance ... and that is how MANAGED several itchy things while leading a difficult coalition ... never the less, he is a great politician by all means for which i guess there are no difference of opinion ... in my opinion, he scores more than NTR in the field of politics ... so what is wrong if chiru treads the same path, not taking a decision in haste, is it something woefully wrong, PVN proves otherwise right?

Hyderabad: As the megastarâs fans are going gaga over his entry into politics, the big question that everyone is asking is whether Chiranjeevi will make an impact like Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao aka NTR.

While the one thing common to both Chiranjeevi and NTR is their popularity, they are, however, as different as chalk and cheese in their mannerisms, outlook, the way they deal with people, among others. In short, they are poles apart in their attitudes and behaviour. Here is peep into their different minds as their actions reveal and a comparative picture.

The most striking quality of NTR that made him a huge success was that he was immutable and always held his views firm even in the face of strongest opposition. He simply would be unmoved by criticism and had a devil-may-care attitude to everyone and everything. Here is a revealer: When NTR decided to install the statues of several historical and literary Telugu personalities on the Tank Bund, darts of criticism flew. He simply ignored them all and went ahead and installed the statues.

Chiranjeevi is sensitive and finds difficult to swallow any hurtful com ments. During the platinum jubilee cel ebrations of the Telugu film industry a few years ago, a veiled attack on him by actor Mohan Babu made Chiranjeevi emotional. Some thought it was touching. But thatâs his soft core. In politics, a thick-skin is a pre-requisite to survival and maintain oneâs stability.

NTR had the ability to respond spontaneously to any development around him. Hereâs a case in point: When Rayalaseema agitationists blocked his way while going to the Secretariat one day, NTR, being the chief minister, took an instant decision and sat on the road to outsmart those who wanted to put him in a spot. âMy office is where I sit,â he declared when his advisors tried to tell him that it was unbecoming of a chief minister to do so.

Chiranjeevi may be one who âthinks and inksâ but his slow response to events gives an impression that he is not comfortable in jumping to conclusions and taking instant decisions. When confronted with some situations in his own family life, Chiranjeevi took a long time to react. In politics, like in comedy, timing is important.

NTR was an adamant leader. Most of the important decisions were his own. He could neither be influenced nor would he consult anyone. And he reaped the benefit of being his own leader. When he took a decision to plunge into politics, his sonin-law N Chandrababu Naidu, then a minister in the Congress government, refused to sail with him. Subsequently, when NTR romped home to power, Chandrababu Naidu deserted the Congress to join the TDP. Even in subsequent elections, NTR alone would decide the candidates.

Chiranjeevi hardly looks like he takes decisions on his own. By now the world has come to know that his brother-in-law Allu Aravind wields the greatest influence on him. It is also Aravind who is pushed to the fore on most occasions to speak for him.

NTR was also described as âEmpty Drama Raoâ by his Congress critics for the theatrics that he indulged in. But theatrics actually endeared him to the masses. One day, he would come wearing an ear pendant. Another day, he would dress up as Swami Vivekananda. He never ceased to spring pleasant surprises.

NTR was a fighter to the core. When Rajiv Gandhi as prime minister passed some comments against him, NTR retorted calling him a âKurra kunka (young brat). A chief minister calling the prime minister names became the most discussed topic at that time.

Chiranjeevi, by nature does not like to rub people on the wrong side. In fact, the wannabe politician, is learnt to have decided not to fight back against any individuals in both the Congress and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) or other parties if they call him names.
