About______An Irish Painter ..poet.... Christy Brown....Born with cerebral palsy....he is crippled can only move his left foot....born into a working class single parent working Irish family of 13 children.....Learns to use his left foot to express himself.....just the left foot.....dats it...only one foot...left foot...goes to speech therapy when he is 20 and starts to write and recite poetry tooo....FInally writes this autobiography "My Left Foot" which becomes a best seller and the book is dubbed into 14 languages...He married a nurse when he was 40....and died in his 50s.........

BY____________Daniel Day Lewis.....One of the top 5 performances of all time by an actor in motion picture....He studied the character so minutely dat U feel like UR watching a documentary on people with cerebral palsy.....THe character requires him to emote with eyes and rarely use his voice for his help.....and he rocks.....

Supported By_______Brenda Ficker as his MOM.....was too good....she is the strength to christy Brown...teached him how to read...write and when he is overwhelmed with self pity and thinks of shutting himself down from the outside world...she brings him back....she was not dramatic but very touching...

The thing about this movie is its very simple...theres no haunting background score or visual gimmicks or makeup magics....A simple story with amazing performances and real people with real porblems....
Most of the time when disable people are portrayed in films they tend to be shown as naive, gullible and too likeable.....this is the first movie where U can see the real insight of such a people...they are arrogant...rude....overcome with self pity.....and also very very strong at the same time....
A marvellous Movie depicting the triumphant of Human Spirit over the cruel jokes of Nature....
