Elca already mentioned them....and those two deliveries are the best i saw in a final match..... alan Lamb and Chris Lewis wickets by Wasim....... i already posted the Damien fleming/shane warne combo bowling to windies and snatching the match.....1996 semifinal...last week thread lo vesa idhi..... ivi kakunda....chucker Malinga...vesina four balls against southa africa almost changed the course of the match....great drama..great deliveries...If only it was bowled by a straight arm pace bowler than Malinga.....they would be even memorable.... mumbai lo 1996 game. Mark Waugh full form lo unnadu aa time lo. varusagaa 2nd century in that series. still remember him wearing a hat while bowling.
1996 semis lo richie richardson swept a ball that was bound to go for a boundary. it hit the umpire BC Cooray and ultimately the batsmen had to take just one run. aa taravata over lo Shane Warne got another breakthrough. 1999 WC semi-finals lo, shane warne bowling Gibbs is another super ball. mottam match appatidaaka SA total domination, once warne took that wicket and followed with cullinan's the match started moving towards Aussies. Interesting observation is, 96 and 99 finals had aussies just get into finals thanks to a final over tension. both final overs in the respective matches were bowled by damien fleming. | ||

1992 World Cup FInals.... PAKI naa kos VS ENGLISH MCG....IMRAN KHAN ...JAVED LUCCHA,INZI and AKRAM kalisi 249 pettaru score board lo.... ENG was chasing 250 and after some intitial set backs ODI specialist Neil Fair Bro and AJ Lamb have steadied the ship and were seem to be cruising along to reach the target....and then there was drinks break.... Donno wat the PAKIs did with the ball during the break but Imran bought Akram to break the partner ship and he delivered two balls in succession....BALLS of the tournment.... both of them with a hint of reverse swing pitching on the off....AJ Lamb has bat pad and body everything in line to stop it.....the ball missed everything and destroed the stumps.... The next ball ...... same line ...same result...batsman is lewis.... two striaght wickets.....breaking the backbone of english line up..... and ENG lost it.....  | ||

Prasad's ball to get Sohail was another one >>>> As much as we wanted to say ball, but in many cases in ODI, it is not the ball, but the shot the batsman chose will decide whether the ball is good or bad. Prasad gaadu, Amir Sohail ni bowled chesina ball, not a great ball. Amir played a rash shot. Similarly, when a good ball is bowled to batsman like Gilchrist, Sehwag, Krisna.. srikanth, they will make it look like an avg ball. | ||

1996 world cup semis .... Aus vs WI in the newly built stadium of mohali modelled after the fast conditions of Aus.... Aus chose to bat first and made a meager 207.... WI came to chase....lost their first wicket cheaply.... The Master....Lara came to join chanderpaul....Lara was fresh from setting the karachi stadium ablaze in qyarter finals...theknock which took WI to semis.... he was in fine touch and in a pure bowling condition he made a quick fire 45 of 45 balls.....and Mark Taylor was confused wat to do....Lara was lookin like he is going to finish the game in 30 overs... then taylor bought steve waugh to bowl....steve rarely bowled in that competition I think as he was coping with a shoulder injury..... Steve came to bowl and in his first spell he bowled a gem of a delivery to the Master........... The Ball pitched on the off in perfect lenght and pace for Lara to think he can guide the ball through the third man for a single..... The genius opened the face of the bat....and after pitching the ball completely stunned the batsman with its pace....its like it just drank a red bull or something.....completely fooled the genius....and before he realized and closed the face off the bat....there goes the bails and the WI hopes for a world cup finals.... Everyone were stunned even Steve Waugh Himself........ One good ball can change the game....} |
