Fortunately i have not encountered this unfriendliness till date, though i have been warned sufficiently. Probably i am even more unfriendly. More importantly, in Gurgaon you live in a bubble of your own, in your own apartment complex which is quite often self sufficient. Until you interact with the regular folks like grocery shop guys, auto drivers, service sector, you may not face this much. But i have interacted with all these genres - from getting black market cylinders, to getting stoves repaired, cable work etc. but the level of unfriendliness is just about as good or as bad as Bangalore. | ||

Meeru oka 3 months back vosthe, we could have caught up.... Surprisingly, even after being in Bangalore for 10 years..I am not missing Bangalore, barring the weather. The traffic scene in Delhi-Gurgaon is miles ahead of Bangalore..for going from my house to the airport which is around 12 Kms will not take me more than 25 minutes including the toll gate. People are quite friendly in the apartment complexes, water situation is also much better, school admissions was smooth... Minor niggles like not getting brown rice easily etc. but on the whole not bad so far, touchwood... | ||

Kkd, I substituted mudhumalai for Thekkady - much the same attractions.. Kkd, I had to take a somewhat circuitous route due some date constraints but here's my itinerary- Day 1 - landed in blore Left blore at 1 pm for masinagudi Spent the evening and night in nest inn- ok place , decent food - nv Day 2 Early morning went to the mudhumalai safari Were lucky enough to spot a tiger, wild elephants , bison, dancing peacocks, a black bear, wild boar and deer Due to monsoon elephant safari and elephant rides were closed but we watched the elephant feeding at the camp Started driving to ooty - took the masinagudi 36 hairpin bent route - very scenic thouh the waterfall was dry Reached Ooty by noon - visited botanical gardens, and the tea museum/factory Started to coimbatore Reached Anaikatti - Swami Dayananda's Arsha Vidya Gurukulam - spent night there Day 3 Spent the morning in the ashram and left for Madurai in the afternoon. Reached madurai buy evening, relaxed in the hotel Day 4 Meenakshi temple and drive Kanyakumari Checked into hotel and went to sunset point beach to watch the sunset Day 5 Set the alarm to wake up to watch the sunrise from the room - greAt view from the picture windows in the room Went to kanyakumari temple and later vivekananda rock and in the evening went to The Suchindram temple Day 6 Started to trivandrum, visited padmanabhaswamy temple and drove up to Varkala -checked into a beachfront heritage resort , indulged in an Ayurvedic massage and Shirodhara, Day 7 drove to kumarakom , stayed at Zuri resort - kids loved it Day 8 Took the overnight houseboat trip in a glass covered AC boat to avoid mosquitos kumarakom-alleppey- great views and food - seafood Day 9 Plan was to head to munnar but my older son fell sick so cancelled munnar and headed to Fort Kochi to get him medical attention and rest. one friday evening it took me nearly 4 hours from jayanagar to airport . i have missed the flight to Hyd . friday kavadam tho all flights are busy ..aa roju night airport lone nidrapoyi saturday morning vere flidght lo vella ..  That is only time i did not like bangalore .. rest all great compared to other metros in india .. weather is good .. people are friendly .in my area 95% people understand telugu. 75% people speak very good telugu | ||

It takes me less than 2 mins drive That said, I live very close to my office. Well said Akkade 4 kms ki 45 mins padutundi.. Ofcourse inka hosur road near mg road daggara kuda afaik. and in bannergatta road near hulimavu! Here in bangalore, the problem is there are many junctions and many roads which makes the pubic use every cent of land. Hence ooru chinnadi and traffic ekkuva! Be Kool | ||
