Congress leader Ajay Maken on Monday attacked Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for his remark that the party is hiding behind the 'burqa of secularism'. "I believe the burqa of secularism is way better than the nakedness of communalism," Maken said. "Yesterday, whatever he (Modi) said was one-sided. One needs to answer keeping facts in mind," he said. Maken also hit back at Modi's Olympic jibe as he asked what did he do for sports as the Gujarat CM in over 10 years. Digvijaya asks Modi to define secularism "Modi said our Olympics performance could have been better, but in National Games in Jharkhand, Gujarat got zero medals," Maken said. Countering Modi's attack over poor higher education infrastructure in India, Maken said there were only 7 IITs before but now there are 16, while IIMs went up from 6 to 13. "In the NDA regime the education expense was just 1.2 per cent, while in the UPA rule it shot to 4.6 per cent. Gujarat has not spent on education and ranks 14th," said Maken. "Modi doesn't have moral authority to criticise anyone, it is not Gujarat versus India," he also said.
