A special flight, special buses and medical camps, besides clothes and money for the persons who lost everything in the flash floods in Uttarakhand … These are the facilities provided to the AP pilgrims. If you come to a conclusion that these facilities are being provided by the Congress ruling government in AP, then you must be mistaken!!!. All these facilities are being given by the former Chief Minister Chandra Babu’s TDP, not the CM Kiran’s government!. The central ministers of Andhra Pradesh, State government ministers and other officers are camped at Delhi to monitor the rescue operations for the past five days. But no one has dared to take a decision to ferry the rescued pilgrims to their native villages in a speedy way. The authorities of AP Bhavan, works under the supervision of AP government, have allotted only two rooms for 220 Uttarakhand victims. They did not provide the bathrooms to women. Majority victims’ were forced to stay outside the building. This is the pathetic condition of the Andhra pilgrims. But the TDP has responded timely and set up medical camps at AP Bhavan in New Delhi. But the resident commissioner of AP Bhavan, Sashank Goyal, has not given permission for the medical camps and asked his sub-ordinates to throw them out of the AP Bhavan, sources said. He even misbehaved with the TDP Rajya Sabha member Gundu Sudha Rani by saying that he will do whatever he wishes because he has powers. The TDP rank and file dared him to touch the party’s men then they will show the power of the Telugu people. They set up the medial camps in Varandahs and used the parapet walls as beds for the patients. Chandra Babu Naidu, who landed in the Country’s capital from America two days ago directly involved in the rescue measures by camping at Delhi, had taken a decision to ferry the pilgrims to their villages by mobilizing a special flight and special buses. Around 186 people from the AP Bhavan were sent to their native districts by Spice Jet aircraft. The pilgrims were provided busses of Kesineni Travels from the Shamshabad airport in Hyderabad to reach their native places. Political parties, especially Congress alleged that Chandra Babu is politicizing the incidents of natural calamity. It is recalled that Naidu staged a protest at AP Bhavan when the pilgrims were not given basic facilities. Revenue minister Raghuveera Reddy said his government doesn’t need any publicity. They are taking the measures to save the AP pilgrims and bring back them. He did not mention the lack of facilities at AP Bhavan.While speaking to media in Vizag, the revenue minister said more than 2600 pilgrims had gone for Uttarakhand pilgrimage and eight people were died and 33 were missing in the flash floods. So far, around 1500 pilgrims reached Andhra Pradesh and another 148 are at AP Bhavan in New Delhi. But the opposition parties allege that there was no data of pilgrims at government. A pilgrim of Guntur, Lakshminarayana says who want’s to see the politics at this hour of disaster. The victims will see the helping hand not the party. The person who saves you or gives you hope on the life, will automatically become god for you. When the government was failed to provide the help, Chandra Babu has come forward. Now, naturally he is the god for us. This is not my opinion, majority of the pilgrims are saying, Lashminarayana told media. |
