Action Items: please spend 10 mins daily for this whole week. Dear Friends, Once in a lifetime we all get an opportunity to make a difference in our lives and the lives of the entire generation. Starting Monday (24th June), Senate plans to move to the final stage of the immigration reform bill. However, as Senators deliberate and vote on the immigration reform, it’s our turn to do our share and make the difference. I know it feels like there is no end in sight to the ordeal and painful waits. But there is light at the long tunnel, and we are now closer than ever before, to get our fixes done by Congress. Immigration Reform has many of our provisions. And, we are pleased to share that Senator Warren has introduced the amendment #1532 to fix four (4) of the key issues already not already addressed in the bill. We applaud Senator Warren for her leadership. Here is the summary of Warren Amendment #1532 - Requiring employers to sharing green card, H1 & L1 visa paperwork and approvals with employees – This will help prevent abuses in the system as immigrant employees will not be beholden to the employer. Fix for removal of per country effective date Clarify job mobility for immigrants after filing adjustment of status - This will allow some job mobility to free up skilled immigrant labor force Fix for STEM definition to include backlogged applicants, increasing from current limit of 5 years in the bill to 10 years. This will allow backlogged STEM applicants not to be left out. We want Congress to take action on Warren Amendment #1532. This will be possible only if you call Senate offices registering your support for Warren Amendment #1532.
