If Zanjeer works, AP can be proud of me: Ram Charan Indu Mirani, TNN Jun 21, 2013, 12.00AM IST Ram Charan on horses, fitness, family and Zanjeer. To know more, go to www.follo.co.in/ramcharan on your mobile Veteran actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi's son, Ram Charan, may be making a small detour in his career as he makes 'Zanjeer' in Telugu and Hindi, but his heart beats firmly for his fans in Andhra Pradesh. The Follo Telugu favourite spoke eloquently and emotionally about them as he said, "Zanjeer is a good attempt for me and I am moving out of my comfort zone for it. The Telugu industry has always given me so much support, respect and love that I do feel a void somewhere, as I move away from my people. But I want to look at this differently. My perspective is that if I can prove that any Telugu movie of mine works outside of Andhra Pradesh, if I can prove that my image in this industry can also be replicated elsewhere, then it would make my people proud. The fact that a Telugu actor, a Telugu boy, was able to make such a good Hindi movie would be a great accomplishment." Talking of the fact that there are three very popular actors currently from his family in the Telugu industry he said, "Competition between us is very healthy, which is necessary for one's improvement and growth. But I would never compare myself to my uncle (Pawan Kalyan). I, too, am a big fan of his. He has his own position and his own style. I don't think that I have matured yet as an actor to be compared to him. My movies have their own style. Bunny (Allu Arjun) has his own energetic style. The three of us have our own styles. And we have our own audiences. And when we come together our audiences also unite. I would love to work with my cousin and uncle in a good movie. If a script comes our way, that excites all three of us, then most definitely we will do so. But none of us are searching for a script of that kind. We are in no hurry." Asked about the lean and trim body he maintains, he confessed to not following any diet. "I eat Indian traditional food," he said. "I love my rice and I eat a lot of it. I believe that one must work out five days a week. Apart from that, I don't follow any British or American Diets. If you abuse your body for 18 hours a day, it's not too much to ask that you work it out for one hour. That's my fitness secret." On a rare free day, you will find Charan either at his farm spending time with his horses, grooming them or riding them, pampering them and training with them or at his favourite place in his house where he spends time reading or watching movies. And asked whether he was training to be a father by spending time with his horses, he said shyly, "I wouldn't know how it feels like being a father to a son or daughter, as of now, because I don't have any children of my own. But I can tell you this much for now, that I take care of my horses like they were more than my own children." |
