Went to Goa by Road during 1st week of June. Started on June 1 and returned on June 8th. I own a swift Dzire. We covered 2324 kms and used 135 lts of diesel. The vehicle gave a decent mileage of 17.2 with 4 persons, fully loaded boat space and AC through out the journey. Day 1: Chennai to Blre via NH4. Road is really good but lorry traffic will not allow you the maintain a constant speed of 100. Took 4 and half hours for us to reach electronic city. Had food there at A2b and left to Hubli via Nice road. Bengaluru to Mumbai highway is awesome and we covered 384 kms in 4 hours. Reached Hubli around 7:30 PM and we had our night stay there. Day 2: Started to Goa via Karwar. Karwar is a very good coastal town and has a very good beach. The road to Karwar is really good and there is a ghat section also. We took GoPro hero 2 with us and on theway took some time lapse fotos by fixing it to Car. Had our lunch at Karwar and left to Goa. Reached Goa around 6:30 PM. Took rest that night. Our first resort was at Calangute. Day 3: Covered Calangute, Baga and Anjuna beaches. We had GPS with us so made sure we took the roads which are scenic with sea on either side of the road. Day 4: Checked out and went to panaji. Busy city with excellent roads. Went to Mirawar beach and visited local market and had some good food there. Day 5: Covered Vegator beach, Chapura fort (Dil chahta Hai one) and proceeded to Taj at Fort Aquada. WE stayed at Taj that night. Due to off season, got some great deals in hotels. Food was bloody expensive there (plate ildy 400 rs). So we had our food outside. But location of Taj is awesome. We saw KF Villa too. Day 6: Went to Colva and had our stay there. Visted the beach there and had our dinner at famous Martin's corner. Sachin's fav restaurant. It's famous for sea food. We were doubtful whether we would good ome decent veg food. They had some good veg varieties too. Day 6: Good bye to goa and reached Blre by night. Day 7: Checked our at Blre, had our breakfast at MTR (Maavalli tiffin rooms). Awesome. one awesome place for veg varities. Rava idly, pongal, upma, masala dosa..aaahaa.. waiting period is 50-60 mins. Coffee aithe keka. Left blre around 12 and reached chennai around 4 PM. One awesome trip. Got a chance to explore Karnataka and Goa. My son had great fun at Goa beaches. Though he is just 2 years old, wasn't afraid of the water and he had a blast. Awesome roads. Coastal karnataka inko trip veyyali. |
