Today had to go near nampally station. Baand is aatu care. Shutters down for shops in and ariund assembly. But outside that area itsas usual. But too much bullshit and hype in news and print media. I am getting a taste of whats on the ground vs media stories about the telangana movement among people. | ||

'I felt like throwing stones too' HYDERABAD: "I wanted to pelt stones at the police and side with the protestors," fumed K Manohar, a resident of Ashok Nagar who wanted to go to work in Madhapur but was forced to return home within hours of venturing out on Friday. "I started from my house at 9 in the morning only to return after two hours. I tried to go through Himayathnagar only to be asked to take an alternative route," he said. Barbed wires and barricades were what greeted Hyderabadis who tried to go anywhere on the day of 'Chalo Assembly'. In some places, people were not allowed to return to their homes as well! R Avineesh, a resident of Raj Bhavan road had gone to a gym in Banjara Hills early morning. "But when I tried to return home, I was in for a rude shock as police did not allow me to go in," he said. While Avineesh was sweating it out at the gym, the entire Raj Bhavan road was cordoned off. "I pleaded with the cops to let me go as I was in my gym attire. But they wouldn't listen and asked me to return after 5 pm," he said. While Avineesh was stuck outside, others were stuck inside their homes. "I tried to come out of my hostel twice since I wanted to visit my friend's house. But the moment I stepped out, police personnel shouted and chased me with lathis. I had to stay put the whole day. I could not believe this was the same city I have been living in for so long," the youngster, who was still panting from the chase, said from his balcony. Many people were left in doubt whether the government wanted offices to function at all. "I have never experienced something like this despite being accustomed to strikes and bandhs.
