The Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of our state is heavily dependent on agriculture. The annual average GSDP growth rate has been 5.32% during the Ninth Five Year Plan (1997-1998 to 2001-2002), as against the all India growth rate of 5.46% making Andhra Pradesh one of the four fastest growing states in the country. The average annual per capita income growth has been 3.99% during the Ninth Five Year Plan (1997-1998 to 2001-2002) as against the all India average growth rate of 3.61%. The real per capita income of A.P. has increased from Rs.8214 in 1997-1998 to Rs.10313 in 2001-2002 at constant prices against the all India per capita income of Rs.10754 in 2001-2002. 9. The recurring drought situation currently prevailing in the state has its devastating effect on the growth of GSDP and the growth rate has been 4.10% during the last three quarters of the current financial year as against the all India growth rate of 4.70% (Table-I). A rainfall of 417 mm has been received during the South-West Monsoon as against the normal rainfall of 624 mm and 156 mm rainfall has been received during the North-East Monsoon as against the normal rainfall of 224 mm. A total rainfall of 573 mm has been received during the current year as against the normal rainfall of 848 mm with a deficit of 32%. 80.67 Lakh hectares have been brought under cultivation during the Kharif of the current year as against the normal area of 91.43 Lakh hectares with a deficit of 11.77%. Similarly 30.53 Lakh hectares have been brought under cultivation during the Rabi of the current year as against the normal area of 34.65 Lakh hectares with a deficit of 13.49%. An estimated 68.93 Lakh MTs of food grain production are likely to be achieved during kharif as against the normal production of 86.83 Lakh MTs with a deficit of 21%. The rainfall deficit of 32%, the crop area deficit of 11.74% and the food grain production deficit of 21% during kharif are the highest during the last twenty years. Table I annexed gives the details of economic growth. Sectoral Allocations. 10. facts only annav kada.. here are few from state budget doc, planning commission observations, and news clippings. - 2004-09, ap state agri growth is 6.4%, highest for any 5yrs in history of ap and highest amongst all states during that time. during the same time, country growth is 2.9%. - more than 20L acres ayacut stabilized or created. - MSP increased for rice. (both by centre and state) - prompt supply of seeds, fertilizers and procurement thru FCI etc.. YSR used to have daily touch point with FCI and agri ministry to ensure this. - loan waiver (central - AP is biggest benificiary), subsidies to dairy farms, pashu kranthi. using NREGA for pandla thotalu, & coffee plantations. - most of all, only CM who fought against monsanto to get BT cotton seed price from 1600 to 750/-. used anti-competetion law in courts. - inka jalayagnam antava - in nov-2009, ap govt released circular abt progress on jalayagnam. which says that, total of 48K crores spent & 40 out of 88 were completed up to 75%. with additional 6k crores, total of 80 projects will be completed.
