monsoon is the bestest time to be in Kerala. Once out of Cochin book a cab for ur entire trip. Thats the best way. Back to cochin fly ayyettu plan seskondi. Kumarkoan is a better placethan allepppey as its nt much busy. U get wonderful deals like half prices etc. Taj property in Kumarkoan is good. If u r looking for budget one whispering palms of Abad is okay. Munnar u have to be there for atleast t days and nights to enjoyy. | ||

out of my two yr stay in kerala, if there is one thing that I liked the most, it is monsoon! yes! all you need to do is, take a hot cup of coffee and sit infront of your window or take an umbrella and go for a walk (ofcourse you'll be drenced, umbrella is just a uniform). Absolutely the best time to be there, if you understand what I'm saying. Ofcourse, you may miss the schedule and may not cover as many places as you wanted to! Anand, I visited Kerala last July. Munar-thekkady-kumarakom-allepeyy-cochin. Covered them in 6N/7D. July is not a good option. Monsoon will be peaking. If u r planning, plan before June 2nd week or in Mid september. Munnar lo chooda daniki takkua but awesome climate to b in especially during summer. Thekkady lo only that wild life boat trip which will be 45 minutes. Daily oka 5 trips untadhi. Worth it! Nothing much to see there but good place for adventure activities and trekking. Munnar and Alleppey back water cruising and relaxing anthe. Cochin is a very good place. Cosmo city of Kerala. I missed visiting the church of YMC. Wanted to see that place. Back waters deggara aa church! Also, Jessie's place.. | ||

Blore nunchi start ayyi...mysore meedaga wayanad (forest n ghat road) ni choosthu guruvayur lo darshanam chesukuni akkada nunchi calicut (peddaga chodoataniki emi vundadu..vasco di gama peru meeda oka stone vuntadi) meedaga aleppy reach avvali cochin-alleppy lo ememi cheyyalo meeku already list vundi vuntadi..back waters ki more than 2-3 hours boring.. atherepalli water falls ki ellochu ikkada nunchi (chala movies lo chooyinche water falls)...akkada nunchi thekkady...munar...tarvatha kanyakumari....final gaa trivendrum and back to bangalore but blore-cochin 1.5 days cochin local-atheripalli 1.5 day thekady - 1 day munar - 2 days kanyakumari - 1 day trivendrum -1.5 day meeru blore nunchi fly avvakunda..drive chesthunnattu ithe...elagu night time start avutharu..early morning kalla (4 AM) guruvayr ellipotharu...7 AM kalla malli guruvayur nunchi start ipovachu... ledu fly ante ...u can skip blore-mysore-wayanad-guruvayur | ||

I did this trip (5 days) in 2010 July-End with 2 kids. Planned and booked entire trip thru a friend (and its the best thing I did) 1) By train to cochin, Car with driver waiting at railway station. 2) Drove to Munnar (deshadhan resorts), a)It took 7 hrs to get there. b)Ghat area need to drive slow. c)If you drink, please carry alchohol with you, getting it in munnar is difficult. d) Deshadhan resorts is at the highest point in munnar. Reaching there is a expedition, you go to certain point and then resort driver will take you the last strech as it requires special skills. e) don't miss it. d) Visited tea factory, message parlour and boat ride. 3) From here drove to Alleppey a) Stayed in boat for one night (a/c) b) There is a cook in the crew, he stops at a location and we need to buy what we want (also Telugu CD's available) and he prepares it for you (**** excellent food). c) Local shopping, visit to a old church. d) Fried shrimp is so good, my wife got the recipe and she even makes it in US. 4) From there to Trivendram, Nice hotel at the sea shore (3 or 4 star). From balcony you have sea view and also see Jain statue (I think). 5) return to Banglore by bus. | ||

thats in old days. now mansoon tourism is good in kerala. many foreigners come for ayurvedic treatments in this season . in this season it gives best results. anand garu as i mentioned in yesterdays mail i will send the exact plan in couple of days. my choice will be go to cochin by road through mysore and calicut. on the way u will pass through bandipur forest. kids can enjoy . they can see elephants and deers. luck vunte even tiger. u can visit mysore palace / chamundi temple also if u are interested . from there u can go to guruvayoor , visit krishna temple and then cochin. from cochin u go to allappy. stay there in boat house that night. morning they will take around in backwaters and by afternoon u can start and go to trivendrum. ur final destination must be trivendrum from there u can take return flight to blr. u can also take one day trip to munnar from cochin in between. The absolute must items that I know of Alepppey - Kumarakom Housboat trip ( what else ? ) Padmanabhaswamy temple&palace (Trivandrum) Vivekananda Rock (Kanya Kumari) Thekkady (Elephant junction ? , Kalari show might be fun, Forest reserve ( idi doubt in monsoon)) All package tours to Thekkady include Munnar - is it mandatory ? Monsoon season is considered to be a dry season for tourism in Kerala as it rains incessantly in June n July. June is worst but by mid July it might be ok Munnar is a good place to watch irrespective of the season. Avail a vehicle as public transport won't be so good and it is also tough especially in monsoon season Major advice is take as many clothes as possible as clothes won't get dried so easily | ||
