In the past, we met with an accident. We used AMEX insurance. Amex agreed to pay. They asked us to go to an authorized dealer to 'fix' the car. The whole process took 3-4 weeks before the car showed up in the rental car's shop. They got their car well fixed. They let us go with a bill of close to 3K. When asked, they told that is the amount they would have got if the car was with them and rented to others. Thats why always take insurance from the rental company. Anything happens, just leave the keys and you can go home. May be things changed now. This was in '06 |

Ippudey call chesaa AMEX ki.... #1. AMEX acts as secondary coverage (if you have a Primary insurance) If no Primary coverage (say auto insurance) AMEX acts a Primary in such case #2. AMEX provides a basic insurance coverage which is FREE under Card benefits #3. Comprehensive collision is covered upto 50k including theft, vandalism, nature calamity etc etc #4. A premium feature with additional 24.95 can be opted for richer coverage valid upto 45 consecutive days. Uto 100k, expensive cars, some medical expenses etc. https://www295.americanexpress.com/premium/car-rental-insura nce-coverage/home.do #5. In either cases 3 & 4, Liability is not covered. Manam evadi car ki bokkedithey Rental car damages are covered under AMEX, being at fault we need to shell out damage expenses for the other accidental vehicle Not sure if we can get just liability coverage alone from Rental car provider. |

PRimary COverage is different from Secondary coverage. Most credit cards provide secondary coverage. Amex lo you can purchase Primary Coverage at an additional cost. Chase United airlines cards give you Primary Coverage. (eg: United MileagePlus Explorer) 01/06/2012 - 169.4;05/04/2012 - 175.8; 8/1/2012 - 179 |

Katthi:american express vadu one time 19$ edo enrollment charge chestadu..
One flat price of $24.95 per rental period, not per day ($17.95 for California Residents). Coverage is primary for theft and damage to a Rental Car. You won't have to first file a claim with your personal insurance company and risk having your premiums increase1. There are no deductibles. There is no cost to enroll and you will only be billed a premium when a Card on your account(s) is used to pay for a car rental until your enrollment is terminated. |
