YSR Congress party central committee member Y V Subba Reddy, who had hitherto been considered to be no. 2 in the party after his nephew and party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, is now said to be completely sidelined in the party. Subba Reddy, who has been playing a major role in the party since its inception, is often compared with senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member K V P Ramachandra Rao. He has been the friend, philosopher and guide of Jaganmohan Reddy, just as KVP was for late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. Being a "thodalludu" (co-brother) of YSR, Subba Reddy has been instrumental in working out political strategies for YSR Congress party. However, sources said Jagan had been angry with Subba Reddy for quite some time, as he got the reliable information that the latter had been playing politics in admitting several people into the party and promising MLA/MP tickets to them in the next elections. May be Jagan also got the reports that huge money might have changed hands under the leadership of Subba Reddy and this has been causing a lot of dissidence in several constituencies. This is precisely why Jagan has kept Subba Reddy in the loopline and has been handling the party affairs on his own. After all, Jagan will not allow any alternative leadership in the party!
