Wit due respect to the criticism on SSR, I think he is the only top Mainstream director Who had the guts to make a movie like Maryada Ramanna with a guy like Sunil in the lead & that too as a follow up to a block-buster like MD. To top it all, he follows it up with movie with a fly & Nani in the lead. C'mon guys! What are we talking here? Sunil r Nani had hardly any other big project or 'A' movies to their credit. Lets be proud of wat SSR has already done instead of picking on him. No other director even has half The guts & confidence that SSR has. | ||

Otherwise, the looks and talent for hero material is out there for sure. It's the backup and support that is missing. But for package directors like SSR, star sons are a requirement. Thanks for bringing that up. | ||

Saint. I agree with your analysis. I don't think Taraka Ratna and Nagachaitanya can be placed in same category. Latter is still in his mid 20s and will flood TFI with films until he is accepted. Same with Akhil since these guys have no other profession in waiting. My point is that these families have taken over in such a manner that even to release films, they are working together to get maximum best theatres, time periods. So there is definitely a stranglehold on industry compared to before, in terms of heroes being introduced. | ||

I agre..but idi flop ithe..inko 10 years aa side ee pedda director choodadu...but producers ki instant money kavali..recovery anedhi eppudu bhayame...family hero ithe....flop ina entho kontha recovery vasthundi... RM ..low budget with new heroes teesthe...cinema flop ina workout avuddi...alantivi year ki one or 2 movies teesthe all set....okati peda hero tho teesina.... RM brand value padipoddi ani bhayam..he cannot make low budget movies. | ||

He says on twitter only one in 1000 can be Chiranjeevi(Successful hero). NO. The reason that there is only 1 in 1000 Chiranjeevi's is because today, the 'families' are monopolizing competition. Not because there is no Telugu guy who can entice audience, but because everyone is only willing to put money in families. At one time, Krishna, Shoban babu, Chiranjeevi all came from outside. But afterwards, TFI fell into family trap. A hero did at least 3 films a year till late 90s. To be honest, I am waiting for the day we get to see 'genuine' fresh faces become superstars in TFI. |
