Looks good. I am not sure if she already has under one of these items. But, It would be nice to have a couple of items covered. - Show Map Reduce samples beyond word count. - There are a lot of add ons/plugins to Hadoop. It would be nice if a short session covers that. - There are a lot of Big Data names floating like Pig, Hive, hbase, Mongo DB, etc etc. These are different databases/technologies used for different purposes. Like Mongo DB is Document database, some are key value pair databases, etc etc. It would be nice to have a session highlighting each one of these (a few known items if not all) and explain where they would be used. People new to Hadoop gets easily confused/scared listening to all these names. But, once they understand that Hadoop is the base and where to use all these additional technologies depending on data type, it would be piece of cake. Another item it would be nice to cover is - people talk about deploying in multiple machines, etc etc. There are techniques to make these multiple node usage really effective. It would be helpful to understand these techniques. If I were to be interviewing people for Hadoop/Cloud job, I an ask half a dozen questions in this area and I can gaage if somebody really worked in this field or not and how deep they know. I am not sure if the instructor can help it but, our DB guru Gagu should be able to help with this. My 2 cents. Gagu, please correct me if I mis spoke any of the items. | ||
