The city of joy, Kolkata danced to the tune of Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, Bappi Lahiri, Usha Utthup and international singer Pitbull. Before the show kick-start, Shahrukh Khan promises to have a spectacular, never-seen-before opening ceremony of the Indian Premiere League and he stands up to it.

Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee lighted the ceremonial lamp in the presence of 50,000 spectators, dignitaries and IPL players. The show starts with a dance performance on the Bengali song 'Aguner Paroshmoni' by a trained dance group. Ex-cricketer and commentator Ravi Shastri took the stage and requested the captain of the every team to sign on the ICC Fair Play pledge.

Deepika Padukone enthralled the audience with her rocking performance. She performed on her hit numbers'tumi ho tumi ho shakha'. Katrina Kaif set the stage on fire with her spectacular performance on hit numbers like 'Sheila ki jawani', 'chikni chameli', 'zara zara touch me' and 'chammak challo'.

Bappi Lahiri and Usha Utthup, charmed the spectator with yesteryear hit songs such as 'hari om hari' and 'rambha ho'.

International singer Pitfull entertained the audience with his peppy and foot-tapping numbers.

Last but not the least, Shahrukh Khan steals the show with his performance. He grooved to hit numbers like 'main hoon naa', 'kuch kuch hota hai', and 'baazigar'

'The IPL is not only about excitement, it brings the happiness wherever we go. I am not going to stop now but will continue to dance to the party,' Khan said while dancing to the tunes of 'main hoon naa', 'kuch kuch hota hai', and 'baazigar' among others.

The ceremony was held at Salt Lake stadium in Kolkata and the traffic at the EM by pass was unimaginable as people made a beeline to enter the stadium when the gate opened at 5:30 pm....

Meanwhile This Spectacular Evening Recorded the TRP of 9.6 which is highest for any Program in TV world....in Truly KING KHAN Style....
