bootcamp in osx vaadu..its free...n easy to setup...only thing is u can boot into one OS at a time... 2nd options is parllels/vmware...not free ...but u can use both OS at the same time... | ||

Bootcamp is partitioning the hard disk and installing windows. You have option to choose which OS at boot time. No real time switching between windows and OS X. Other option is to run windows in virtual machine. You need enough memory (RAM) to run host (OS x) and guest (windows) at the same time. 8gb is strongly recommended. Oracle's VM is free but the paid VMs like Parallels and VMWare Fusion have lot of bells and whistles. Once you install the VM, you need to install windows in it. You need valid windows license. Personally, I have been using VMware Fusion over 5 years and it works like charm. Put your pirate hat and listen carefully. All the VM tools, windows OS licenses, office for Mac are available for nada/zilch if you know where to look. Happy hunting... | ||

Yes, but only one problem, Parallels guys are greedy, each version upgrade is 50$. I was on Ver 3. Bought Ver 6 as 50$ upgrade. Version 7 I purchased in MacUpdate Promo bundle. The only free version update I know they offered for free was Ver 5 to 6. You do get build updates to your existing version once a month or so. | ||
