Congress leadership appears to be preparing to disqualify the MLAs supporting the YSR Congress, so as to prevent them from voting against the government, in case there is a no-confidence motion against the government. There are about 10 to 12 MLAs of Congress and TDP who openly supported Jagan. YSR Congress party is claiming the support of nearly 20. By disqualifying the Congress MLAs who had already supported Jagan openly, the government could avoid defeat in the house. Meanwhile the PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana said the party would take a decision on disqualification of the defiant MLAs within two days. He however did not say how many would be disqualified. He claimed that the disciplinary action had nothing to do with the no-confidence motion. Botsa criticized the opposition stating that the opposition parties had no sincerity towards the problems of the people. He said the opposition parties were joining together only to pull the government down, hoping to come to power, and not because of their concern for people's problems. |
