govt will do wt its best suited for.. i.e., land acquisition. L&T will do execution. govt will give viability fund (may be 10% as u r saying). yes, obviously board will have some rep from govt also, but of no use. let me give 1 example of bangalore recently. initially tollgate used be after airport on NH7. suddenly, for 2days, they kept it before airport to charge ppl travelling to airport. 5-6km traffic jams ayyi, tollgate ni break chesukuntu vellipoyaru janalu. after that they reverted to old position. that is the extent of control govt has or is using. anyways, my understanding is sridharan is looking too much negativity abt involvement of private entities in metro works. stage -1 is of length less than 6km. (from old madras road to MG road). i'm not sure abt stage 2 length. but, see metro work all over old bang. hyd started work full throttle aiming to complete 50km length tracks & showing very good progress.
