Actress-turned-Congress MLA from Secunderabad Jayasudha Kapoor appears to be toying with the idea of joining the Telugu Desam Party, rather than the YSR Congress, in case she quits the Congress party. Though Jayasudha has dropped her plan to quit the Congress for the time being with the party high command denying MLC seat to her bête noire former Hyderabad Mayor Banda Karthika Reddy, it is apparent that Jayasudha is not feeling comfortable in the Congress party. And she admitted the same in an exclusive chat with a television channel anchor on Sunday. "I came into electoral politics of the Congress party because of late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. I was introduced to him by his evangelist son-in-law Brother Anil Kumar, whom I used to meet in prayers. Frankly speaking, I don't know anybody in the Congress party closely and nobody in the party or the government would acknowledge me as a Congress leader. So, I have no attachment to the party," she said. Asked why she did not join the YSR Congress party, Jayasudha said she did not like the kind of rat race in that party. "I have no personal intimacy with YSR's family members either. I might have met Jagan three or four times. And I don't have the habit of making rounds to their house to get into their good books. Somehow, I could not adjust myself in that atmosphere," she said. Asked whether she would go back to Jagan party in the next elections, Jayasudha shot back, saying she could as well join the TDP. "Why can't the TDP? In fact, I know Chandrababu Naidu much better than anybody else. In any case, I want to complete my full term first and then take a decision," she said. | ||
