You can get TiVo or Moxi DVRs as alternatives. Still need to pay monthly service to Tivo/Moxi.

I used cable company's DVR before. Now, Iam changing the cable company. Need advice to decide between Rent vs own.

what do u suggest? if own, what good brands are available in the market?
