Union tourism minister K. Chiranjeevi seems to be using his star appeal to push two of his pet proposals to boost tourism. After getting an enhanced allocation for his ministry from finance minister P. Chidambaram, he has now turned to home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde for extending tourism visa on arrival facility to 16 more countries to boost business potential for Incredible India. Since his taking over as minister, he has been pressing for visa on arrival to more countries and also for selling India as a film tourism destination. Both are interlinked to some extent, Chiranjeevi claims. Top ministry sources said that the response from Shinde has been positive. Allu Arjun’s younger brother, who proved to be a successful entrepreneur with his ‘South Scope’ film magazine and its calendar, when made debut into film industry as hero with film ‘Gouravam,’ there were some expectations from Mega fans. However, they were surprised to see him choosing Kollywood for his debut, but convinced when he is making it bilingual in Telugu and Tamil languages. This film ‘Gouravam’ was directed by Radha Mohan and produced by Prakash Raj. The shooting of this film has been completed long ago but was not released until now. According inputs from Tollywood sources, the Telugu version has been shelved because the Mega family is not happy with the performance of Allu Sirish. They believe it is nowhere near to ‘Mega-mark’ hence it may be embarrassing for them and fans if released. So, it is learnt that the Telugu version was shelved but Tamil version will be allowed for release as it may not make any difference there for the Mega brand image. However, this is not officially confirmed by the concerned. |
