Mankind's very first religion - originated in the Vedic era was intended to do exactly that, what a Religion is created for, communal harmony and collective-living. Philosophy and God were repeatedly discussed at length, that brought about greater minds such as the Buddha, or the Tirthankara, in to a relatively peaceful coexistence. There were no caste hatreds at least, until all hell broke lose thousands of years later, probably during the Gupta Empire. Abrahamic Religions, that originated in and around the Holy Land, were intended for exactly the opposite purpose. The ability of man to play God, by gaining power, and control. Those who questioned the Church , and the Bible were marked extremists. So is the case with the Quran.
