While the Intelligence Bureau says that there was intelligence that was provided, the Hyderabad police say that the intelligence was not specific in nature. Sources in the IB tell rediff.com that there were at least four alerts that were sent in the past couple of weeks to Hyderabad. Two alerts were sent following the arrest of MIM MLA Akbarrudin Owaisi, sources say. There was a lot of anger following the arrest of Owaisi and the IB had warned of trouble following this arrest. Following the hanging of 2001 Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru, there were angry protests in Hyderabad and many had spoken against this hanging. At this time too the IB had put out two alerts in Hyderabad and Karnataka [ Images ].
