According to state law land under tea gardens is not exempt from the land ceiling act . The Congress alleges that the BJP government under Dhumal had broken the law by selling a tea garden patch of land where Bhushan has now built an educational institution . Bhushan's Kumud Bhushan Education Society has reportedly purchased 4.68 hectares of land for building of an educational institution two years ago . A few days back Kaul Singh ordered an inquiry into the allotment of 28 acres of land to yoga guru Baba Ramdev in Solan district’s Sadhupul . The Congress alleges that the BJP government two years ago had allotted land in violation of strict land laws in the state . According to revenue rules no foreign national can be allotted land in the state , the lease has been signed with Acharya Balkrishna a close associate of Baba Ramdev who is a Nepali national, Kaul Singh said . The land was leased out to Patanjali Yogpeeth trust on one time payment of Rs 17 lakh and an annual token lease of Rs 1. The Congress claims the land is actually valued at over Rs 35 crore | ||

Hardwar, July 19 (UNI) Yoga exponent Baba Ramdev's guru Swami Shankar Dev maharaj had been suffering from unbearable pain due to chronic lung and spinal tuberculosis which made him leave Ramdev's Patanjali ashram. Police investigating a complaint about the swami who went missing from the ashram four days ago, said the swami had given a account of his poor health in a letter recovered by them from his room last evening. In the letter, Swami Shankar Dev Maharaj said that he was leaving the Patanjali Yogpeeth in Kankhal here as the pain due to his ailments had become unbearable for him. The report about the missing swami was lodged at Kankhal police station three days after he went missing under mysterious circumstances. 'The missing Swami has also begged pardon from Yesh Dev Shastri, Bali Ram, Hari Dass, Chakor Dass, Nirwanji, all inmates of Patanjali Yogpeeth, for not refunding the money he had taken from them.' The persons mentioned in the letter were being asked about the circumstances under which the swami went missing and the letter had been sent to the handwriting experts to verify the writing. | ||

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will probe the disappearance of Baba Ramdev's guru and founder of Divya Yog Mandir Trust Swami Shankar Dev. Swami Shankar Dev had gone missing on July 14, 2007, after he went out for a morning walk. The CBI will reportedly register the case in a day or two, and then a team of officers will go to the spot from where he went missing, re-create the crime scene and start questioning people. The investigating agency will also question Ramdev soon, if required. Ramdev welcomed a probe by the CBI. "I am ready for any probe. I am not afraid of any probe. Last year, I myself had submitted a memorandum to the President demanding a CBI probe or any probe under the supervision of a sitting Supreme Court judge," Ramdev had said. Ramdev rubbished the allegations that he had a fight with his guru and also that he had exerted any pressure to end the probe by the state police. |
