I recollect having seen her at CARE where NBK was hospitalised. She walked in without any feeling of anguish but when the TV channels surrounded her suddenly she behaved like a seasoned actress with tears welling up in her eyes and said that she had come to see her son. Wonder what she did with all those sarees she got as gifts from guests, ministers etc. We even heard a rumour that she was so fed up with so many sarees that she sold nearly a truck loaded with them to a mall owner who was in the silk business. Sridhar’s cartoons in Eenadu were like a feast, the one particularly that stood out was …..she is climbing the seven hills, after her wedding, with bodyguards and her ears studded with diamonds captured one’s attention. Hmmm, there was also a talk that her booty was with a person in the industry who was considered a confidante of the Late Leader, and she never got that back. LP might have her set of fans but she will be remembered as the lady who brought disgrace and was cause of the denouement. |
