Whyme:* places where there are wine shops are a public nuisance.. people buy alcohol and drink right there.. fights happen, you find people passed out around that place

Whyme:read news paper there are atleast 4-5 rapes and 1-2 of them are of minors (some are like girls below age of 10)
Yes and most of them are in villages. RSS chief thinks no rapes happening in rural India.
Whyme:at the end of the day it is still india.. you can still live happily and freely as long as you have money and dont get on the wrong side of the law.. india trip is always fun - even my abcd kids wish they stayed a week longer
Yes. People are happy there, no whining. I enjoyed the trip. My kids loved it too. we went to Taj Mahal and the U.P tourism department is a big joke. India lo Number 1 tourism spot ni, antha worst gaa manage cheyyadam, too bad. I am not sure, if it is U.P tourism or central govt maintenance |

Went for marriage in the family (my brother's).. it was a whirlwind trip with interesting experiences: 1. Shirdi trip Went to shirdi alone on short notice booking tickets through Kesineni Apparently they do not give rooms to a single person in shirdi.. but where Kesineni bus stopped that guy gave me hotel room for 200Rs more.. while coming back from shirdi TRS called for a bandh (after all party meeting).. the bus people said they may not go into hyderabad beyond nizampet (interesting thing here is apparently kesineni depot is in nizampet and these guys were avoiding the ordeal of dropping passengers till lakdi-ka-pool).. there were no signs of bandh in the city.. all passengers in the bus told the bus people we wont get down from the bus till lakdi-ka-pool they ended up dropping us there.. the hotel they stop while coming back to hyd is bad.. if i was not hungry i would not have had food there but i was hungry ate something and flood gates opened when i reached hyd.. bad experience.. experience in shirdi: I happened to go to shirdi on datta jayanthi so it was like tirupathi that day so much crowd..otherwise not bad experience other than spending money for what you want 2. For the wedding: I hired a bunch of cars for the wedding.. most of the drivers are from villages from telangana and godavari side.. they said a lot of people moved to hyd to become drivers etc and not many locals around for farming.. a sign of drastic economy effect in the coming years 3. traffic: horrible and in addition there is this metro construction.. bad.. but compared to my previous visit people are giving way to ambulances which is a great progress 4. health: I had to take my mother for a angiogram test (appolo doctor prescribed it as a preventive measure).. the appolo hospital we went to was almost like a govt hospital - dirty, mosquitoes, lethargic personnel who dont know what to do and when to do things and the personnel (aayahs and compounders) were asking for tips all over the place.. the doctor who prescribed the exam said we will be out in 2-3 hours the test itself was around 30 min but it took us 7 hours to get out of the hospital since the time we entered it 5. a-hole owaisi made some comments and during the last few days of my stay there people were a little worried if we can travel around the city or not.. there were minor bandhs and business closures 6. some other interesting tidbits: * i was sick after my shirdi visit and went to a local doctor in the area he treated me well.. my son later on got dust allergy (eyes red, watering etc with breathing issues).. i drove my son to the same hospital, the doctor was leaving the clinic and was on the road getting into car.. i blocked his car and requested him to look at my son (i could have gone to some other doctor but i really liked him).. he got off his car went in to clinic looked at my kid prescribed medicines and then left.. i paid just 100Rs for his check up thats all (i could have paid more if he asked) his medicines fixed the issues.. i cant get that kind of healthcare attention in US (my 12 year was laughing saying 'daddy you hijacked a doctor') * flexis are the latest fashion.. couple of idiots decide to take ayyappa deeksha and there is a flexi/hoarding celebrating it.. ayyappa deeksha is supposed to be a humbling experience * packaged/mineral water - couple of years back if you went for bottled water or canned water you knew what you were getting.. now there are too many brands * people are a tad worried about eating outside.. apparently the restaurants are using recycled oil from china * places where there are wine shops are a public nuisance.. people buy alcohol and drink right there.. fights happen, you find people passed out around that place * read news paper there are atleast 4-5 rapes and 1-2 of them are of minors (some are like girls below age of 10) * for 50Rs you get a great shave :-) and royal treatment * people driving long distances in traffic and pollution has spawned off lot of homeopathic and ayurvedic offers of improving skin tone etc.. people are minting money on facial treatments like multani mitti, almond face scrub etc.. at the end of the day it is still india.. you can still live happily and freely as long as you have money and dont get on the wrong side of the law.. india trip is always fun - even my abcd kids wish they stayed a week longer |
