to stop growing: make sure you use use exhaust-fan all the time when using shower. make sure you clean the shower area with plain tap water after each time you take bath. because soap scum and other things will cause this mildew to grow. shower chesaka, malli water tho clean chese time, opika manaku chala varaku undadu..but ala chesthey it will stop further grow. mostly builder gadu don't use mildew-resistant silicone...because its high-end and bit expensive comparing to normal silicone. |

that is called mildew. usually it grows on corners and joints. it will grow on silicone (rubber-like). unfortunately if it grows fully you can't remove it...you need to scrap and remove the silicone and apply freshly. make sure you apply mildew-resistant silicone. |

In the bathroom, on two of the corners we observed black patches....started out small and gradually ( very slowly) increasing in size....Once I had scraped the walls and the black went away....now it is building up again.... BTW, my association management company told me to keep the exhaust on while bathroom in use, which I am following at least 75-80 percent of the time. Meeku evarikaina ila aiunte....please address my questions. 1. Is this mold? I think so but double confirming. 2. Why does it occur only on those two corners. what could be the source? 2. How to get rid of this issue permanently. TIA |
