At a seminar on 'Sensitivity towards women' organised by the Lions Club in in Madhya Pradesh, Dr Anita Shukla, a scientist, commenting on the gang-rape said, "If the girl was surrounded by six rapists, why didn't she surrender before them? "And what she was doing with her boyfriend at midnight? [Incidentally, Dr Sharma seems misinformed as well, as the incident happened at 9.45 pm]. It will happen when she roams till late night with boyfriends," said Dr Sharma. Blaming the girl for the rape, she even offered advice, "When she knew that she is surrounded by six drunk man, why didn't she just surrender before them.
